Ildar Gilmanov was born in Ufa in 1970.

In 1997 he has finished the artistic-graphic faculty of Bashkir State Pedagogic University of M. Akmulla.
The artist has become a member of WTO «Russian artists unity» in 2003 and still is presenting a part of the group. In addition to that, starting from 2005 Ildar has participated in a number of republican, regional, all-Russian, international and foreign exhibitions. Moreover, ten personal exhibitions in such cities as Ufa, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Sterlitamak and so on are in the asset of the artist. He has also took part in international artistic laboratories in such locations as Turkey (year 2007); the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (year 2009); Elabuga, Russia (year 2014).

The works of Ildar Gilmanov are represented at Bashkir State Art Museum of M.V. Nesterov (Ufa); Tatarstan Republic State Art Museum (Kazan); «Margiani» fund (Moscow); Naberezhnye Chelny Art Gallery (Naberezhnye Chelny); State Historical and Architectural Art Museum-Reserve of Elabuga (Elabuga); Bakhchisaray Historical and Cultural Archeological Museum-Reserve (Bolgar); Bashkir State Museum of Literature (Ufa); Art Collection TURKSOY (Ankara, Turkey); Girne American University Art Collection GAU (Girne), Gallery «X-MAX» (Ufa); «Hype» editorial staff (Ufa). Besides, the works of Gilmanov are represented in Russian and foreign private collections (Germany, Italy, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus).
