Grassi Marco

Marco Grassi is a portrait painter who creates his paintings in an incredibly expressive, bright, "magmatic" color scheme.

Today he is one of the most bought artists, his works are in private collections of Silvio Berlusconi and Stella McCartney, exhibited in Italy, USA, Great Britain, Australia, France, Switzerland.

Although Marco Grassi received an architectural education, his main creative interests have always been in the field of fine arts. The artist began to exhibit in the early 90s and immediately won the approval of the public.

Marco Grassi has formed his individual style and technique, which is based on color: color sculpts forms and creates both volume and planar background, filling the graphic contour. The technical side of the work is always closely connected with the transfer of the mood and subtle nuances of the emotions of the people depicted on it. Sometimes it seems that the figures are posing as if in front of a camera lens, looking directly at the viewer in search of a dialogue with him, but often the characters in the paintings are immersed in themselves and their experiences. The impression of the perception of the works is enhanced by their large scale. At the heart of the artist's works is a pasty olive underpainting that forms the tone. On top of the base, he prescribes figures
bright neon colors. For example, his pink is really the “color of barbie”, but with Marco Grassi this shade acquires, in addition to its frivolity and playfulness, a completely new sound, expressive and passionate, changeable, a little different with each new look at the picture. No wonder Italian art critics called the artist's color "magma".
